About Us
My name is Lisa Alexandropoulos and I am the owner of Seacoast Memorials and Exeter Monument Works. The history of my companies is an interesting story and evidence of my dedication to the memorial business.
In 1990, my mother died of cancer. My father and I reached out to Exeter Monument Works to create her memorial. I was intrigued by the design and engraving process involved in making her monument. Shortly after the completion of my mom’s memorial, I was invited to apprentice at the Exeter business. At first, I learned how to help families weigh their options in granite and traditional versus custom designs. Next, I was taught the basics of engraving. During my second year I took classes in Barre VT to learn how to engrave shape-carved designs. For the next five years I continued to take classes in VT and I worked hard to perfect my trade.
In 1997, I was ready to go out on my own and Seacoast Memorials was opened in Portsmouth, NH. It became my new passion and I felt a tremendous amount of pride in providing families with memorials of excellent quality. My genuine customer service set me apart from my competitors; I could relate to the grief and circumstance that brought people to my door.
In 2001, the design process became computerized for most of the industry. This was a great investment for my office as it aided families in visualizing the creative process. I could now customize designs based on a picture or photo. During the next decade, I focused on building the business and my solid reputation for quality and service.
Jumping ahead to 2013, I opened a second branch of Seacoast Memorials in Brentwood, NH. This location would be more convenient for families west of the seacoast area. In early 2014, I purchased Exeter Monument Works as my mentor was retiring. I have come “full circle” now that I own the birthplace of my career.
Today, I have designers in each office who offer the same exemplary service to our families that I had provided for the past 18 years. I spend my days engraving monuments, markers, benches, posts and natural rocks. Most of the memorials that I create are installed throughout NH, Southern ME and Northern MA.
